"April is the cruelest month" – T.S. Eliot
Lungs of the Earth which appears on the homepage of my website, is my response to the burning of the Amazon rainforest. As a member of an environmental activist group of writers and artists, Stone in Stream, I created this piece for Earth in Peril/Earth in Praise, the February 2020 issue of “Voices de la Luna”, San Antonio’s Literary Journal celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. This piece has also become an homage to the people, wildlife and land of Australia during their recent horrific wildfires.
