ARTIST STATEMENT
"This is for my mom, whose bed I slept in since I can remember. My father works in the railroad, and his schedule consists of many weird hours including working nights. When I was young I would sleep with my mom, and we had a routine of watching tv before bed. It was a beautiful childhood ritual, and I always felt safe. We did see things, though, the unknown and the spiritual. We would sometimes awake to large shadows, orbs of light, and occasionally a feeling of dread or unease. It’s strange, what it felt like to be with her all those nights is such a faded, distant memory as I’ve now lived for a long time away from my childhood home. At the same time, all my memories with her are such a tangible part of me."
