WHAT A BEE SEES - THE CHRYSANTHEMUM

36” x 24” Oil on canvas

ARTIST STATEMENT

“The artist leaped off the proverbial cliff in 2015, after 21 years in the Air Force and one year in corporate America, and decided to become an artist. Much of the creative energy has always been there, but the fine motor skills and business techniques are definitely a work in progress! She is inspired by nature--mostly the light and reflections of water and the shape and form of flowers and bugs. She is also fascinated with structures such as rock formations, architecture, or even that of a crumbling stone wall. All of the artist's work begins with her own photographic work, and is then translated into various media. She loves to experiment with media, but her first love was graphite drawings. Most recently, she is inspired to work in large scale oil on panel, building her own panels from renewable bamboo.”
