WALRUS AND MAMMOTH TUSK DOUBLE DANGLE EARRINGS
1 1/2" H. 3/8" W*. 1/8" D. bottom piece. 1/2" H. 1/2" W. 1/4"* D. top piece (3" full height of earrings with hooks) These earrings feature fossilized walrus tusk on the top with cream and ray detailing, and wrapped in sterling silver. The bottom features mammoth with dark brown crusty detailing on the front, and light brown on the back, topped with sterling silver caps. Earrings have French style hooks.

ARTIST STATEMENT
"I have developed a unique art form independent of other mainstream jewelers. My path has led me to borrow from the ancients. The first amulets and extra attire of humans in their evolution down from the trees and out of the caves were probably made from bones. Crafting and wearing bone is a very special way of connecting with the “Great Mystery.” Bone is also one of the softest and most beautiful materials available. Over the years, I have added to my designs using materials such as ancient walrus and woolly mammoth tusks. I feel I am merely, through my simple design eye, fixing these pieces so others can carry them around with them before the pieces return to dust, as we all ultimately must. I retain reverence for life while appreciating the beauty of bones."
